Rid your neighborhood of litter, before it makes its way to our local waterways! As part of the Connect the Drops initiative, Onondaga County Save the Rain and OCRRA.org have teamed up to create Block Litter. Let’s make our community cleaner – one block at a time.

Saturday midday we'll be gathering cuttings from some woody fruit trees and shrubs at Rahma Edible Forest Snack Garden! We may also do some general garden maintenance while on site.

Please bring gloves and clippers if you have them. Some will also be available to borrow.

Folks can bring cuttings home to propagate on their own - there will be guidance on how to do so. Many cuttings will be brought back to an Alchemical Nursery board members' home for storage over winter.

In the spring, we'll bring these cuttings back to life as many young new plants! These will be available at the Spring plant sale, and for use in gardens around the city.

Forest Garden Plant Propagation

Saturday midday we'll be gathering cuttings from some woody fruit trees and shrubs at Rahma Edible Forest Snack Garden! We may also do some general garden maintenance while on site. Come join us for some edible forest garden TLC. Despite the light rain, there's much to do at the garden. On our list for Saturday (1) we'll start with an educational seesion on wild edible Tree/Plant Idendification (with print-outs), (2) then some trash/litter removal, (3) shrub and tree pruning (4) brush and organics management and removal, and finally (5) short workshop on Black Wallnut harvest and preparation. Family-friendly: kids (of all ages) are welcome. ...
